See ya Sydney

Well the day has finally arrived. Me and a girlfriend are heading off on what is the trip of a lifetime for me.

I think my colleagues at work might be just a tad bit happy that I’m finally on holidays. I can only imagine the constant reminders on how many days left until I go on leave must have been pretty annoying. Hopefully they are all enjoying the peace and quiet. I would like to think through they might be just a little sad the won’t get to see me for 5 weeks! Ha-ha!

And yes you read correctly. 5 whole weeks. 6 countries (7 if you include the stopover in Dubai both ways), no kids or hubby (I will miss them terrribly) and what will probably end up being over 2000 photos (that won’t get edited for another 2 years). I’m so excited to be actually on my way.

Saying goodbye to the boys was a little sad but it was nice to get a little extra attention from the boys and not have to compete with electronic devices. Super big cuddles were given all around and will hopefully last me until I get home.

Even as I was saying goodbye though it still didn’t hit me that we were finally here. The moment I have been counting down on for months now.  Once we were through the gates though, everything started to get real. We got through customs pretty quickly so made our way to the Qantas Club Lounge for an early glass of something to celebrate (don’t judge. It’s lunchtime somewhere in the world right).

The information board did say to relax until our flight! Ha-Ha!

See ya in few hours Hong Kong.
